Okay, been posting a lot of links, I’ll get back to blogging my own thoughts soon, one more first:
You’d think they’d learn. Then again, if it really is just the “first run” thing, I think that might be a little excessive. But I’m never against getting more out of micro$oft.

So the aforementioned “tech” columnist is trying to defend himself again the onslaught. All I can say is if you read just the bold text, it sounds much better than trying to read the whole thing.
In one of of his attempts, he has this to say:
People figure this [that he is a moron] must be true because it took us a while to get her iPod Nano functioning, while this was not the case for them. This is akin to saying, “Your car is in the shop and mine isn’t so you are stupid.”
Now, not to continue the arguement unnessesarily, but I felt it nessesary to point out, that saying he is a moron is not at all akin to his example. A car being in a shop doesn’t mean it was the driver’s fault. Not being able to set up a perfectly functioning iPod is the user’s fault. It’s more akin to saying “You tried to drive your car from the back seat and now it’s in the shop; I drove mine from the driver’s seat and mine isn’t. You are stupid.”
I guess at the very least he feels good about himself because he can install a harddrive.
